Alice Barwise of Lowsay, Holm Cultram; proved 28th July, 1631
"In the name of God, Amen, the xvith day of May 1631. I, Alice Barwys, widow of Robert Barwys late of Lowaey, deceased, sick of body but of good and perfect remembrance, blessed be God, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following:
Imprim: I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my maker, redeemer and *, and my body to be buried in my parish church at Holm
Item: I give and bequeath unto John Barne of * my natural on, all my goods and chattels both moveable and unmoveable as are at this day due unto me of the goods and chattels of my late deceased husband’s * according to the custom * the * of * by right of my widowhood.
All the rest of my goods and chattels moveable and unmoveable (my debts, legacies and funeral expenses discharged) * I * bequeath and give unto the said John Barn my natural son, whom I do make sole and whole executor of this my last will and testament.
