"In dei nomine Amen. 11th day February AD 1583. I alice Barwis of the town and parish of Wigton sick in body but whole in mind and in perfect memories do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.

First I give my soul unto almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried within the church yard for mentioned parish the * be * * I will my body be * brought to the yewtree * good by * and * of my friendship.

The rest of all my goods moveable and unmoveable my debts * paid I give unto my son in law William Damson and my daughter his wife whom I make my sole executor.
