First & principally commending my soul into the hands of my creator hoping through the merits of my redeemer to have full pardon of all my sins and to be made a partaker of eternal felicity, and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried in Christian burial according to the discretion of my executor hereafter named. And as for the temporal estate wherewith the almighty hath endowed me with, I dispose thereof as followeth:

Impes I give & bequeath unto my brother William Barwis of Plasketlands, and to my brother Thomas Barwis of Bassenthwaite Halls each of them five shillings

Item: I leave to Thomas Barwis of Cooper, twenty-one shillings

Item: I leave to Robert Barwis of Langrigg ten shillings

Item: I leave to William Barwis of Aspatria, Jonathan Barwis of Langrigg, John Barwis of the same, and to Mary Wilson wife of John Wilson of Bassenthwaite Halls, each of them two shillings and sixpence.

Item: I leave to Joseph Troughear, son of Joseph Troughear formerly of Bramley, deceased, two shillings and sixpence.

All which said legacies it is my will & mind that the same shall be paid within one half year next after my decease.
