In the Name of God Amen I John Barwise of Edderside in the County of Cumberland Gentleman do make publish and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say First I Order and Direct all my Just Debts and funeral Expenses to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named. I also Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Son William Barwise All those my Several Copyhold messuages and Tenements - with their respective appurtenances Situate lying and being at Seaville in the parish of Holme Cultram To Hold to him my said Son William and his heirs In trust as hereinafter mentioned viz. To receive the rents issues and profits thereof for and during the Joint Lives of my two Daughters Johanna, the wife of John Scarrow and Sarah Barwise and to pay and apply any money to my said Daughter Johanna and the other to my said daughter Sarah for and during the term of their natural lives and from and after the decease of the longer liver of them In trust to sell the same and Divide the money arising from such Sale equally amongst their respective children. That is the children to have their Mother's share equally amongst them share and share alike and their receipt alone notwithstanding ? to be a good sufficient discharge to my said Son William for the same from time to time. I also give and Devise unto my said Son William all that my messuage and Tenement situate at and called by the name of Low Plasketlands now occupied by Joseph Pape In Trust to sell the same and to pay and apply the money arising from such Sale between my said two Daughters in such manner as he may think proper from time to time to relieve their several necessities to be paid to their own hands all which devices and bequests to my said Daughters. I hereby order and direct to be paid to their own hands respectively and that the same shall not be liable to the debts control or engagements of any husband she or they now have or hereafter may have but their respective receipts alone from time to time to be a good and sufficient discharge to my said Son William for the same. I Also give and devise unto my said Son William All that my copyhold Estate situate at Mawbray now occupied by John Harrison and Joseph Pape To Hold to him my said Son William and his heirs upon trust viz. to receive the rents and profits thereof and to pay the same unto my nephew William Bone during the term of his natural life and from and after his decease to sell the same and divide the money arising from such Sale equally between his children share and share alike. But in case the said William Bone shall claim or demand any legacy due him from my uncle John Parkin or my Aunt Ann Parkin which have been long since paid Then the above devise to the said William Bone and his children shall be void and not take effect anything hereinbefore contained to the contrary thereof notwithstanding. I also give and Devise unto my dear wife Mary Barwise the sum of Forty pounds a year yearly and every year for and during the term of her natural Life and I hereby charge and make chargeable all my Estate situate at Foulsyke in the said parish of Holme Cultram with this payment thereof. I also give unto my said wife during her life the use of the parlour and parlour Loft at Foulsyke aforesaid to be repaired and made fit for habitation by my Son William at his own expense which said bequests of Forty pounds a year shall be in full of Dower or any Thirds she may claim out of my estates which I shall die seized of. I also give her a Bed Bedstead and Bedding of cloaths and Six Chairs. All the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever I give devise and Bequeath ? my said Son William and his heirs forever in which said copyhold Estates hereinbefore devised I do intend to Surrender into the hands of the Lord for the uses of this my Will and I do hereby appoint my said Son William Sole Executor hereof and Lastly I do hereby revoke all other Wills by me at any time made and do declare this my only last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have to the first sheet of this my Will set my hand and to this Second last sheet set my hand and Seal the twelfth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty One.
