John Barwis of Langrigg, Bromfield, proved, 22nd May 1823

"In the name of God Amen. I John Barwise Junior Langrigg in the County of Cumberland being of sound mind and understanding do hereby publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following. (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my father John Barwise all my lands, messuages, tenements and personal property to have & to hold for ever after paying all my just debts and funeral expenses. I likewise constitute and appoint John Barwise my father and Mary his wife my sole & joint executors. In witness whereof I here out my hand and seal this 26th day of March 1823. John Barwis (signature – Note spelling). Signed sealed and declared by the said John Barwise in the presence of us and in the presence of each other as his last will and testament.
