Appoints Trustees: Jannet Woodcock, Joseph Langcake, William Barwis, Thomas Barwis, Joseph Barwis & Richard Barwis, to "Lett, sett, sell & dispose the eight part of Langrigg tithe with its appurtenances thereunto belonging and one tenement lieing in Langrigg-bank with the privileges there unto belonging with the Lords right of the downgate land with all the rest of my goods and chattles".

Bequests as follows:

  1. "to my eldest son Robert the Lords right of the Downgate land upon consideration that the said Robert shall pay the sum of ten pounds to my second son Jonathan when the said Robert comes to the age of 21 years being a legacie left to Jonathan by his antt Jane Huson which is now in my possession"
  2. "to Jonathan, my second son one tenement being in Langrigg-Banck with all appurtenances there unto belonging to him and his heirs forever upon consideration that the said Jonathan do pay the sum of 50 s. when he accomplishes the age of 21 years to my two daughters Jane and Mary equally to be divided betwixt them & for default of such payment I do authorise and impower the said ‘Lessees?’ to sell or otherwise dispose of the tenement aforesaid paying the forementioned sum to my two daughters returning the overplus to my son Jonathan"
  3. "to John, my youngest son, the eight part of Langrigg grain tithe lately purchased by me of Mr. Walthar Calverley with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him & his heirs forever, upon consideration that the said John shall pay the sum of 30 s. to my two daughters to be equally divided betwixt them when he comes to the age of 21 years. If not I do authorise the said ‘Lessees?’ to sell or otherwise dispose the tithe aforesaid paying the aforesaid sum to my two daughters returning the overplus to the aforesaid John"

"Lastly and as for my debts I owe in right or conscience to be paid to any person or persons whatsoever shall be well & truly contented & paid I also order and appoint the said ‘Lessees?’ as Executors to take care of my children and their estates till they come to age. And to sell my goods and chattles moveable and immoveable for payment of my debts & ……. are so sold and paid, to return the overplus if any to my two daughters in consideration of the sum of 40 s. they had left them by their antt Jane Huson, which I have in my possession."
