"The xxth day of November 1607

In the name of God Amen. I William Barwis being sick in my body but of perfect memory make this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

Item: I give and commend my soul into the hands of almighty God my maker and my redeemer by whose agony I hope thereof to be saved and my body to be buried in my parish church paying all duties thereto belonging

First it is my will that my wife Isabel Barwis shall have the third part of all my goods

My debts paid and my funeral expenses discharged, I bequeath to M? my last begotten daughter £XXX to be taken forth of my whole goods before any decision be made

Also I bequeath to my daughter Isabel Barwis £XXX to be taken forth of my whole goods

Also I bequeath to my children’s children * every one of them one lamb

Also I give to my daughter Margaret M? one cow

Also I give to my two nephews William Barwise son to Richard Barwis and William Barwis son to John Barwis one * of ground in that * field called Sea* land and Bard* land of xii s. rent by year

And my wife Isabel Barwis to have the whole occupation so long as she is my wife and to pay their fine and to sell them *

And also one garth called * garth between them

Also I give my house in * parish to my wife Isabel Barwise my son Richard and my son John and Isabel my daughter and to Margaret * daughter to the said Richard and to be equally divided among them

The rest of all my goods my debts paid I give to my son John and to my daughter Isabel Barwis whom I make my sole executors * gently to gather in * hereof * hand set to my name William Barwis (signature)

And I cause * to be my * Simon Atkinson my brother in law and Richard Sanderson Bailiff of *endall discharging them to so this my will after * and to satisfy this is my will * * again set to my hand William Barwise (signature)
